Hi all: I have marked assignment one and will give these to Seth before returning them on Friday. I thought it would be nice to have some general feedback, with more detailed feedback on your individual assignments.
I will put it on here just as soon as I figure out how... any hints? (There's a blurb about classical mechanics to come too).
PS: I have now figured out how to load PDFs to Google Docs... here is the feedback.
Hey James, maybe you could use a HTML table thingy to present the data? Is that what you were referring to? Of course, you would need another post (bringing you up to two ): )... :)
ReplyDeleteSo it turns out that there are no set marking criteria for this course... did we want to make a collaborative set? My suggestions for full marks are:
ReplyDelete) Correctly identifies important concepts.
2) Applies correct formulae with no conceptual errors and only minor calculation errors.
3) Evaluates results by placing them in a biophysical context and showing an appreciation for the relevant scales.
Thoughts?
I agree that getting the correct number isn't the whole story. How about: each assignment's marks are evenly divided amongst the questions (and then scaled appropriately); full marks for each question if the above 3 points are all met; marks deducted according to the discretion of the person doing the marking.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to do that. Anyone else?
